for those who may appreciate these images but don't know about the artist's style, let me enlighten you on the term most art majors use, called, "trompe-l'œil" which can also be spelled without the hyphen in English as trompe l'oeil, (French for to 'deceive (trick) the eye'). this became a better-known technique around the turn of the 19thc, and has remained popular ever since.
